Selected Case Studies
Media Research, applied. With one foot in research and the other in design, I strive to incorporate interactivity and intentional composition to get brains thinking and hearts feeling.
ARTECHOUSE: AR Filters Project Proposal
TLDR (The Rundown): (Unsolicited Project) While working at ARTECHOUSE, an interactive and immersive art space, I connected my course material to a tangible opportunity for engagement with customers, proposing AR filters that can engage users and introduce them to ARTECHOUSE prior to even purchasing a ticket.
The Outcome: Three AR effects were created to highlight each ARTECHOUSE locations’ exhibitions. Moving forward, I plan to create a Spark AR version of the filters to better serve the company's branding purposes.
The Methods: Creative ideation, Photoshop, Snap Lens Studio
The Concepts: Customer engagement, brand recognition, project proposal, stakeholder communication, user testing, UX for XR
PlayPart Product Strategy and Design Case Study
TLDR (The Rundown): As a Product Design intern for PlayPart, a sustainability focused video-sharing app, I conducted User Research and analyzed collected data to develop a product management strategy to better match the product’s purpose with its mechanics and design.
The Outcome: The Stakeholder was persuaded into action by my thorough research and presentation. My proposed changes are being implemented across departments, completely shifting the product’s focus to better provide for users.
The Methods: Figma, Miro, Market Research, App Store Analytics, User Interviews, Competitor Analyses, User Personas, User Journeys, lo-, mid-, and hi-fidelity prototypes
The Concepts: Interdepartmental collaboration, developing Minimum Viable Product to Minimum Marketable Product, product management, the laws of UX, designing interactions with emotional valence, sustainability marketing
Educational Interactivity
TLDR (The Rundown): For my Creative Coding class, we were tasked with designing and developing a digestible, educational online experience to educate a target group on a social justice issue.
The Outcome: This project has been used as an exemplary standard for final project expectations, shown in Creative Coding classes for the past two years.
The Methods: Research, Processing (creative coding language), Canva (Asset Design)
The Concepts: Educational interactivity, communication through design, information hierarchy, target audience research, accessible design
MYmta Redesign Case Study
TLDR (The Rundown): The MYmta app as of May 2023 was near unusable. I created an unsolicited redesign to increase revenue, integrate their physical brand identity into the digital space, and make the app pleasant to use.
The Outcome: Since this project, MYmta has redesigned their application and incorporated many of the ideas that I outlined in my case study. This demonstrates my ability to understand users and design within project resources.
The Methods: Figma, User Interviews, Competitor Analysis, Hi-Fidelity Prototypes
The Concepts: Accessibility by design, utilize digital applications to offset losses across other departments, navigate user “Must Haves” and “Nice to Haves”
